Jackson's 18 Month Update

Jack Jack is now 1 1/2 years old! Time has flown by with him. He's getting so big! At his 18 month check up he weighed 26lbs (50th %), and was 32.5 inches (80th %) in height. He's gonna be a big boy! A lot has happened since his 12 month update. So here goes...

*He started walking at 15 months. He was a late bloomer in the walking but now he's running! He climbs everything, including our stairs which I hate.

*We broke him from his pacifier at 18 months. He had that thing attached to him all the time and I was dreading breaking him from it. The first night wasn't bad at all, he fussed for maybe 5 minutes and then fell asleep. I thought by night 2 he was fine, and then night 3 he was up all night. But I think he was teething so bad combined with missing his paci. It was just 3 days and he was done. He hasn't fussed since. However he is now VERY difficult to take places bc I can't just shut him up with a pacifier. Taking him out to eat is a nightmare, he screams and fusses from boredom. I think I miss the pacifier more than him. I was adamant I wasn't going to let him have till he was 2. I hate seeing kids with those things in their mouths as they are talking. Drives me crazy. And now he's starting to say more, so I'm super happy we did it.

*He loves bath time. I bought the kids some bath crayons and he's loves drawing with them. I have to scrub the tub every night now bc they draw all over it.
*He loves this little green chair. He climbs into it like a big boy and chills.
*He's discovered his nostrils. He loves to stick his finger in his nose and thinks it's a game.
*He's OBSESSED with Oobi. He says...Oooooooo......biiiiiii, and brings me the remote. He could watch it ALL day so I have to limit him. He's constantly grabbing all the remotes and pushing buttons. Drives me crazy!
*He drinks Carnation Instant Breakfast every morning. He loves it.
*He never falls asleep on me. This was a rare moment. He has to have a nap everyday or else he is a beast. But he only likes to sleep in his own crib. I lay him down about 2pm and he sleeps till about 5pm.

*He's LOVES minki blankets. He has to sleep with one. We keep Mike's minki out in the living room and it's huge, and he drags that thing around and rolls around in it, and rubs his face on it.
*Pretty sure he's a lefty, like his mama! He eats with his left hand, draws with it, holds things with it, combs his hair with his left hand. Mike's bummed bc he was hoping he's be right handed for shooting reasons. I have no idea what he's talking about. lol.
*I joke that he's gonna be the next Paul Mitchell. He's obsessed with hair. He loves to comb it, pull it, twirl it, pull out ponies. Or he's gonna marry Rapunzel.
*Here is watching Oobi in mommy's bed.
*He's also loves to play with my makeup.. Clara calls it "makeups" and Jack brings me my bag and says "uh uh uh" bc he wants me to unzip it so he can dump everything out and play with the brushes.

*He also likes to play in the laundry and put the clothes on his head and walk around. he reminds me of ET when he does it. He can't see where he's going and bumps into walls.
*He loves squeezable apple sauces. And sucks them down in 20 seconds.

*He loves to splash!! The dog water is his favorite. I used to get upset that he was playing in it, and I just don't care anymore. Whatever it's just dog germs, lol.

*He has the best baby booty! Love his little bubble butt! As Cole says, "it's juicy".

*Clara the same age on the left, and Jack on the right. Totally different tushies.
*He has crazy hair. I will do his hair so cute and then he tries to fix it himself after, so it's never done properly. I give up haha!
*His favorite past time, playing in the splash sink.
 *Snuggling with Daddy's minki.
*No nap that day and he passed out on the couch, a rare occasion.
*He was so mad when I put him in the little pool and then quickly got over it, and LOVED it. I couldn't keep him out of it.

*They love each other so much, and play so well together. I remember being sad when I went to have Jack bc I felt like I was betraying Clara in some weird way, and now I can't imagine her being an only child. I did her a HUGE favor by giving her a brother. And now with another one on the way, it's just gonna get better!

*We turned him forward facing at 18 months. I was completely against it bc it's recommended they stay rear facing till at least 2 if the car seat allows for it, but Mike was having a fit and on the way to the beach he was screaming and we couldn't see what was wrong. So Mike turned him around at the camp ground. He LOVES it, but I swear they fight WAY more now that they are faced the same way. But soon enough Clara will be in the very back when the baby comes. If he wasn't as big as he is, I would have refused to let Mike turn him, but he's above average in size, so I'm trying not to freak about it.
*He points his finger in the air and says "choo choo" when the "Coming Around the Mountain" song comes on. They love that song, it's so cute when they both are doing it.

*He's likes to wear hats, and apparently wigs haha!
*He has started oinking, snorting and making this hilarious piggy face. I have no idea where he got it from but it's adorable.
*He carries this purse around everywhere, and now when you take his picture he says "Cheese" and tilts his head to pose for you.
*Playing with my hair, my sweet boy.
*Loves to play outside, and explore. He also likes to pull leaves off my trees.

*He screams when I take him to my OB appointments. He hates it at my doctors office. I'm not sure why. He's passed out in this picture bc he was crying so much when we got outside he passed out.

*Ironically he LOVES it at his doctors office. I think bc there is all the toys, cartoons, and dinosaurs painted everywhere. He only cries when he gets his shots and that's it.

*They both got their flu shots, this day and he got all his other vaccines as well, so they were given suckers after.
 *Choo choo
*He loves Aunt Fishy and Uncle Eric. He actually will go to anyone, which freaks me out.
*Playing with the magnify glass.

*I was worried about his speech until I talked to his doctor and now I'm not worried. It almost sounded like he was hard of hearing when he spoke. His words so far are:

*Nigh Nigh (night night)
*Tank You (thank you)
*Scuse (excuse me)
*Tisses (kisses)
*oooooo beeeeeeee (Oobi)
*Babba (Gabba)
*Dada
*Mama
*Cole
*Eric
*Plash Plash (splash splash)
*Baby
*Eye
*Wee Wee
*Nooooooo
*Iz (Izzy)
*boob

*He loves to brush his teeth, and hates when I take it away.
*When ever I cradle him he sings "Baby baby" from Yo Gabba Gabba
*He sleeps with a night lite, and his glow worm (which he takes apart every night), his ocean sound, and his minki's.
*He's getting his canine teeth top and bottom right now, and then all he will need is his 2 year molars.
*He eats everything in site except for lemon flavored things, and ketchup. He will even eat his veggies if I hide them in his spaghetti or a casserole. He also loves salad which I can't get Clara to touch with a 10 foot pole.

He's really starting to come out of his shell and become his own little person. He's so much fun and I love watching him change and love my little boy!

Murray Family Farms 2012

This year we went to Murray Family Farms with Clara's preschool. We usually all go together with my family, but everyone else had already went, so we just saved it for her preschool day. My mom met us there which was great bc little Jack is scared of everything and would have been really hard to deal with.

He was already crying just trying to get his picture with the pumpkins.

Clara has taken a liking to Vincent. She kept telling me she was sleepy and was being really shy.

We rode the tractor out to the pumpkin patch. My mom stayed behind with Jack bc he was terrified of the tractor.
All the other kids took off running way out into the patch and Clara was not feeling it and just slowly went over to the side and picked out a pumpkin. Doesn't she look so excited??? haha
Clara wouldn't go anywhere near the bouncy thing. ALL of her schoolmates were bouncing and the moms and Clara just sat with me whining about how she was tired. After everyone was almost done bouncing brother decided it looked pretty fun.

Clara loved the ducky races. She could have done that all day.

Her "friends" as she calls them. Clara grabbing at her belly button. She does it when she's tired or anxious.

 With teacher Sister Ricks.
 Eating lunch

The corn maze, where they heard a cool story about a square pumpkin.

Brother playing in the corn. He had corn all in his pants when I changed his diaper.
It was a fun day. The kids were wore out! Both of them took a nap when we got home.
