Nursery

I haven't begun the nursery yet and I'm realizing I'm running out of time. This is an example of the bedding I want my mom to make. The fabric is by Heather Bailey and Amy Butler. I want the colors to be teal, sage green, pink and brown. We found the fabric at Strawberry Patches but we need to buy a crib first so we can measure the amount of fabric we will need. Clara will be here before we know it. I've got to get busy.
This is an example of the paint color I want the room painted. I want to get baby pictures of all of our family an friends and hang them on the wall in a collage. I also want to order or make letters to hang her name above her crib and I want to finish making the paper topiary's or balls for her nursery.
This is my favorite outfit for Clara. I found it at Old Navy on clearance in Valencia. It is so adorable.

This is some of her new clothes that we have for her. I also have 2 huge bags of clothes that my friend Christine gave me and I just need t wash them and put them away. I am getting the dresser that my mom had when she was a baby. It's dark brown and my grandma had decorated it with pink and blue nursery rhymes. My dad just has to fix the bottom drawer and I need to get new knobs for it and it will be her dresser.

This is most of the stuff we have for her nursery. I bought a Finding Nemo lamp a long time ago for our children, pop-up books that we had when we were little that I found on Ebay, my old tea set that my mom never let me play with, a book of old antique nursery rhyme books that my grandma Virginia gave me, some toys that my aunt Judy gave me and the "baby things" baskets that I found at Homegoods in Valencia that my mom bought me. I also have a giant diaper pin that hangs on the wall with hooks. That is literally all we have. So I need to buy a crib, changing table, car seat, and then I can focus on the nursery.
This is the nursery as of right now. That furniture actually belongs in the guest room. I think I might keep the tv in the nursery. I have a feeling I will be spending a lot of time up there.

This is the cradle that my grandpa Spicket made. My brothers Thomas and Bobby slept in it as infants and so did my cousin Cassell. It's very special and now I get to use it for Clara. We are planning on having her in our room in the cradle for at least 6 months and then upstairs in her nursery. I'm sure yet.

This is me at 6 months pregnant. I feel huge already!!

Michael kept messing with me and taking my picture.

It's a Girl!!

We had our ultra-sound today. My mom and dad were able to come and so was Michael's Aunt Sharon. It was so exciting. I had a pretty rough morning and was throwing up from morning sickness. The baby is completely healthy! When the ultra-sound tech got to the genitals she showed us that it was a girl. I could not believe it!! I'm still in shock about it. I feel euphoric. I thought for sure we were having a boy. The chinese calendar, eyeball vein, heartbeat, needle test, my dad's dreams were all wrong. I can't believe it. Everyone was kind of laughing and my mom was crying. Michael had the funniest shocked look on his face. I asked him if he was disappointed and he said no but I still think he is or it just hasn't settled in yet. We had a boys name picked out and everything. Also my friend Natacha came up from L.A. and gave me a whole bunch of baby stuff and two bags of baby boy clothes. I'm going to keep all the neutral stuff but it's really funny that I was set on boy clothes and now I have pretty much nothing, lol! We are so excited to add another girl to the mix. Most everyone we know beside Tyler and Katy are or had girls. Mike's cousin Cher is expecting a girl in about 3 weeks, Dave & Lindsey just had a girl, and quite a few of our other friends are having girls. It's so bizarre!! I'm so excited!! This is a pic of her foot, but it's blurry on here.

From left to right, Leg tucked under, belly and head. She wouldn't turn her face for the tech so we only got side shots of her.

In between her legs, the vajj, lol!!

Christmas 2008

This Christmas was wonderful. Michael spent Christmas Eve with his side of the family over at his Aunt & Uncle's and had a good time seeing everyone. Michael and I spent Christmas day with my family. My grandparents on my mom's side haven't came down for 2 years in a row. There was a big storm coming and they were afraid of not being able to get home. So it was disappointing that they weren't here. But we still had a great xmas. We went to my parent's house at 8:30am and opened presents. Mike & I got a lot of baby stuff, which is awesome. My mom and dad ordered me a big diaper pin that hangs on the wall with hooks. I wanted it really bad for the nursery but couldn't afford it. So I am super excited about it. My parents also got me a Hobo wallet. It's this awesome wallet that they sell at Takken's and it's amazing!! Michael got a lot of cool labrador stuff. We finally have art to hang in our living room. This year Mike and I decided not to buy each other anything because we are trying to save for the baby and pay stuff off. I made some homemade gifts this year. Lindsey and I made vinyl letter signs. They were really fun to make. Everyone seemed to like them.
We went home in the afternoon and took a nap. When we went back up to my parents for dinner we took the dogs with us. That was a mistake, lol. My dad usually deep fries the turkey every year however the wind was so bad this year that my mom baked it. Well he had all of the turkey grease set out from Thanksgiving and we forgot about it. The dogs found it out in the yard and went crazy. Zakk rolled in it and they all drank a bunch of it. We didn't realize until right before we left. When Mike got home, Zoey wanted to go to bed in her crate. Later that night we were getting ready for bed and there was a HUGE pile of vomit on the carpet right in front of her crate. It was full of turkey grease. We shampooed it twice and it won't come out. We have a large grease stain on our carpet now. I felt so bad for her. Lessoned learned, they won't be going to grandma's for a while. They get into too much trouble and chase my mom's cats.

17 Weeks Update

Mike and I went to the doctor on Friday and the doctor couldn't find the heartbeat so they did an ultrasound. Everything is fine, the baby was in an awkward position. In the picture he/she is looking straight at us and his hand and arm are up by his head waving. The baby is so cute, I can't wait to kiss it. I still haven't gained any weight which the doctor is happy about. We are going to find out next month what we are having at our big ultrasound. Then tonight I found this hilarious website that combines our photos to show us what our child could look like. Let's hope we have a boy because if we have a girl, it will be scary looking!!

Naughty Dogs

The other day we had a major rain fall so our back yard was pretty much mud. We both had to leave for work and didn't know what to do with the dogs. Our back yard had no covering and they would have been soaked all day and cold. So we decided to lock them in the laundry room area which also leads to our stairs. I went up stairs and closed all of the bedroom doors so they couldn't get into the rooms. We still haven't unpacked our boxes upstairs. And now we are going to start planning our nursery so we haven't touched the upstairs. So we leave for work. We both had to work late and I had a feeling I was going to come home to some sort of disaster. They were locked in the house for about 10 hours. So I knew for sure I would be cleaning up pee which was fine because we have a spotbot that works miracles. I get home and I walk into the house they were going crazy against the laundry room door. I of course right away smelt urine. I went up the stairs and I'm almost positive it was Zakk that pushed open the door to our office. This is what I found...

This is Zoey. I could tell she felt really guilty. She kept following me around, staring at me with her sweet face.

This is Mike's dancing gopher from Caddy Shack. They tore all of the stuffing out of his head and ate his left eye. Mike was so upset.

This was a brand new in the wrapper Pier 1 candle that they dug out of the box and chewed up.

I of course couldn't be mad because we are the ones who left them inside for 10 hours with no break. I had to just laugh about it and it took me about 2 hours to clean it up. In the mean time, I found a lot of stuff that I forgot we had since we moved in.

Trip to Utah

Mike & I went on a vacation to Vernal, UT to see his sister and family. We stayed for a week and had a blast. It was my first time in Utah. I am blown away by how clean everything is. The highways, gas stations, restaurants, etc. The trip from Bakersfield to Vernal is almost 14 hours. It was my longest road trip to date. I was able to go to Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and Wyoming all in one trip. On the way to Utah we stayed the night in Las Vegas and then headed through Arizona and stopped in St. George, UT and went to the temple. The temple was gorgeous. There were weddings going on all over the place. Arizona Border

Beaver, UT "Mountains of Fun" & apparently cheese curds

Mike was so excited to go to Cabela's, I however was not so fond of it.

Mike & I laughed at this room in Cabela's because it was the laborador room. It was like our room accept we have the real deal.

This was a beautiful waterfall on the way to Vernal through the canyon.

When Mike and I arrived to Vernal the next morning Blake and Alisa had to go up the mountain to preg check the cows. We got up really early and headed up the mountain and this is a picture of some of the cows. I forget how many cows there were, I think something like 600 cows. It was interesting and the cows were mooing and crying because their babies had just been removed from them a couple of days before this and they were looking for them. It was really sad and I was happy to leave Michael and Blake to do the work. Alisa and I and the kids went back home and spent the day together hanging out.

Alisa & I made these amazing eclair's/cream puffs. They were so good!! Ben would only eat the chocolate sauce. He doesn't eat anything white. It's pretty darn cute!

Ben & I at a restaurant in UT.

Ben was going to be pluto for Halloween, and Brendon was going to be Mickey Mouse.

Wyoming!! We drove to the sign and turned around. It was too cold!

Alisa ordered me a cake for my 28th birthday. She was really upset because she had ordered the Mickey Mouse kit and they called her the day of my birthday and told her that they accidently used the kit on someone else's order. So she had them decorate the cake in my wedding colors hot pink and orange. It tasted so good!

Blake & Alisa got me some cute baby clothes, pacifiers and a subscription to Taste of Home magazine for my birthday.

The day before we left Blake took us to his parents property and showed us where he grew up and the corn they raise to feed the cows. There were a ton of deer on their property. They were so beautiful and Blake wants to eat the buck!

Corn

After his dad chops the corn it goes into a dump trailor where they dump it right here and then his brother was going over it to compress it, which will then ferment and become food for the cows.
This is the corn all chopped up.

We took Ben and Brendon to the park to fly Ben's kite. It wasn't very windy so Blake and Mike ran back and forth trying to get the kite to lift. This is Brendon and Mike at the park.

This is the morning we left. It was terrible to leave.

This is the sign on the way out of Vernal. I was planning on taking pictures of the adorable town of Vernal and of Dina the dinosaur however, I was so hysterical when we left that I couldn't stop crying enough to even want to see the town or the dino. So I missed out on those pictures. It was really hard leaving them. We had such a great time and I wish they lived closer.

In Baby News

So I am 7 weeks pregnant today. I've been feeling pretty good surprisingly. More than anything I'm exhausted. We are so excited about our news. I had an ultra sound last week and it was not a pleasant experience. The ultra sound techs that work in the office are so rude. Their machine was not working and so they had to use a make shift machine and she was very flustered and not friendly. Here I am nervous and anxious and she didn't make it any better. But she said the baby was implanted high in the uterus and that it looked good. My mom could see the heart beating but I couldn't because she wouldn't turn the cart so that I could see. Seriously not a pleasant experience! Anyway all that matters is that there is a baby there and it has a heart beat.

Michael has been hilarious with this whole thing. He is so excited and calls me during the day when he thinks of things or names for the baby. He has decided that he doesn't want to know the sex of the baby. This is something I'm trying to deal with because I will be going crazy from not knowing. Michael said that everything in life is instant gratification and that a true surprise never happens so he wants to wait. Our good friends David & Lindsey are due in November and they don't know what they are having either and it is driving me crazy! I want to know so bad. So considering I'm the one that is pregnant now, I don't know if I can handle it. Picking a girl name is such an unfortunate situation because we do not agree at all and I have no idea for a girl. Most the names we both agree on are already taken by friends or family.

Finding out I was pregnant was crazy! We did our first round of fertility medication and was told by my endocronologist to take a pregnancy test on Sept 18th. So I went to target bought another ovulation kit for the next month of fertility (because I didn't think I was pregnant) and I bought a 3 pack pregnancy test. It was only Sept. 15 and of course I couldn't resist and I tried out a pregnancy test 3 days before I was supposed to. I was home by myself, Michael was at work and all of a sudden I see this weird light line coming across the test stick. I freak out because in 2 years we have been trying that has never happened. I stared at it for a second and couldn't think who to call because if I was pregnant I didn't want to ruin it over the phone with someone. So I called Lindsey Bunting right away and told her to come over to look at something. She lives right around the corner from me and she confirmed that I wasn't crazy and that I was pregnant. I shook and cried and laughed. Then we drove to Rite-Aid and bought a digital test to make sure. I guzzled some juice and tried it out and Lindsey couldn't look and so I looked and it popped up "Pregnant". So then we went to petsmart and I bought our dog Zakk (Michael's baby) a dog tag that said "We're Pregnant" on it. So when he came home from work Dave and Lindsey were over and I told Mike that I bought the dogs new tags since we moved. I told him to look at Zakk's. He complained at first because it was shaped like a heart and the he read it and was shocked. I was laughing and he didn't say much because he was shocked. David and Lindsey recorded it on their camera. It's so funny!

The next day I took my best friend Misty a cupcake in a cute decorated box and wrote "Congratulation's Aunt Misty" Love, ??? on the box. She was at work and started crying her eyes out in her office and it was good times!! She is so excited to be an aunt!

My dad's 50th birthday was on the 18th and so we took him a picture frame that said "I heart my grandpa" with a note in it from baby McGee. My mom freaked out and was crying her eyes out and my dad was a little tipsy because he had played music with his band that night and celebrated his 50th birthday so he was tripping out. They are so excited. Misty also caught their reactions on video.

I think overall telling people has been the most exciting part!! Most people know we have had a hard time and are over joyed when they hear the news. I am just praying that everything goes smoothly and the baby is healthy and that I carry full term!
