First Snow Day in Hart Flat

My parent's finally got snow that actually stuck around for a bit. It snowed all night at their house, so they got 5inches. We loaded up our snow gear that we bought for Utah (it NEVER snowed while there), and took the kids up to experience snow for the first time. Clara seen snow when she was 8 months old in Utah, but that was it. It was absolutely beautiful at their house and I can't believe we get to enjoy it and it's all ours! It's so great that their new house feels like home too! The kids just love it there, we ALL love it there.

Here's Clara all decked out in her adorable purple snow gear!!
Jack Jack in his camo gear!
I brought up the sand toys that I just bought for the beach bc I know my daughter all too well, and there was no way in heck she was going to touch the snow or play with it, without a shovel. And boy was I right!
Daddy had to do all the work while she watched.
 Grandma, Papa and Jack Jack
I made my mom put Jack in the snow and he was NOT happy. He was soaked and I had to take him in and change his outfit. But I had to get a picture lol.

Papa put gloves on brother bear and he just kept staring at them.

Dad made a cool bonfire outside and it was really warm standing around it. He said next year he's gonna have it all decked out and nice to sit around.

Grandma made Clara a snowman. Clara of course refused to touch the snow, but she held the carrot for grandma. Grandma worked really hard on him! We found 2 sticks for arms, orange wedge for mouth, carrot for nose, and rocks for eyes, and don't forget the sand bucket for a hat!!
We tried to get her to hold his stick hand but she refused and finally just stood there and smiled next to him, lol.

 Tasting the snow!
Mike took Clara up the hill (no pictures) and made snow angels with her. It was so cute!!!

My mom and I! I LOVE her so much!!
 Our little family!
and no that is not dandruff, this is SNOW!! they started getting heavy snow as we were leaving and the hwy ended up closed. So glad we went home when we did!! It was a super fun day!! Not to mention the awesome potato soup my mom made, delicious!!!

St. Patrick's Day

We went over to the Bunting's for St. Patrick's Day and ate some corn beef & cabbage, and just hung out. Lindsey made the most awesome cabbage, carrots and potatoes with her pressure cooker. I now want one of those!! The kids played dress up and then made a bed in the living room and watched movies, while the adults hung out in the other room.

Grumpy bear wear Clara's first St. Patty's shirt.
Knife fight between two cute real Irish Men!!!

Hobby Lobby Trip

My mom, Misty and I took a trip to Visalia on a Tuesday that Misty had off of work to check out the new Hobby Lobby. Women all over the blog world and pinterest talk about it all the time, so we thought we'd give it a try. It was fun just to go for the day. Jack had a rough trip, he was bored and restless and then tried to jump out of the cart and face planted on a shelf with glass dividers. Needless to say it was a fun day and we got a few bargains. The main thing I went for they didn't have which was blank wooden plaques that are scalloped. Would I drive all the way back to Visalia just to go there?  Probably not unless I was promised a trip to the outlets in Tulare too! Loved spending time with the girls though!

The Easter aisle was insanely fun! Everything was 40% off and so the plastic eggs were about 48 cents!

Being held by Misty at this time. I finally got the Bjorn out of the van and carried him around in that. BIG mistake, my back hurt for a week, he's a heavy little dude!

Mirror Re-do

Since my parents moved into their new house, my mom has been downsizing on items bc she has a lot of NEW fun things or doesn't have places for certain items. So I gladly take them for myself!! This mirror my grandpa Spicket made for her. It's quite large and she didn't have a place for it. It's very special bc it's hand made by him and I LOVED it but wanted to paint it. I originally had plans to hang it outside and put plants on it, like my mom had done. But with our labs, they would possibly jump up on it and break it and eat all my plants.

Here it is in its original form, a lovely honey stain.
Here's where I screwed up BIG time!! Instead of laying down painters tape first, I laid out the newspaper and slid it under the frame and taped it in place. Stupid, Stupid, STUPID! Basically as I painted the newspaper stuck to the frame underneath and I had to take a razor blade and scrape it off the wood underneath without breaking the frame. It was a mess and it still doesn't look right. :-/
I bought Behr paint & primer in Mermaid "something", I can't remember.

I didn't sand it or anything. I just cleaned it off really good, and then applied two coats.
Since it was for outside I had no where specifically planned for it in my house. None of the rooms in our house are decorated or painted except for the bedrooms, so I decided that the laundry room needs to be done in teal & white. I just need to make some cute curtains for the windows, paint the hall of cabinets white, and paint the walls. I'm so excited!! Check out the cutie in the mirror!!

Clara's 1st Trip to Dentist

Clara finally had her first trip to the dentist. I don't know why I was so nervous to take her, so I kept putting it off. I thought for sure I was a bad mom and not brushing her enough and that she was going to have cavities. But we were lucky! Her teeth are perfect, her bite is good and her teeth are aligned good so far! She has all 20 of her baby teeth. The staff was so friendly and great with her. Luckily for me, Clara LOVES to brush her teeth.

I tried as much as I could to prepare her and tell her about the dentist. She was actually excited when we got there, not scared at all.

She loved the suction wand. She listened very well and did exactly what the dentist and hygienist asked her to do.
Then she got to play with the Nintendo DS, which neither one of us could figure out how to use, lol.

Then she had her xrays, and while we waited for the dentist she brushed the doggy's big teeth! Dr. Purdy was great with her, and when he asked her how old she was, she held up two thumbs up for 2! He thought that was quite hilarious! Then the fun part came when she got to pick out a toy and sticker. She LOVED that!
